From 10 to 12 July 2019 in the Leningrad region was held agrotechnological exhibition "Russian field day", organized by the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation. Within three days, the experimental fields of the St. Petersburg state agrarian University, located on the border of the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg (Pushkin), presented the latest achievements of the country's agriculture-advanced cultivation technologies, the latest agricultural machinery and equipment, selection developments of scientists. The opening ceremony of this large-scale agricultural forum was attended by the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and the Governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko. Also this year, official delegations and representatives of more than 35 regions of Russia came to the exhibition. Opening the exhibition, Dmitry Patrushev congratulated its guests and participants, and also stressed that the "Russian field day" is a platform for a constructive dialogue of farmers from all over the country, where you can see not only the present, but also the future of the Russian agro-industrial complex. During the opening of the "Russian field day", the participants of the government delegation evaluated the work of modern samples of agricultural machinery, examined the experimental plots with the results of the work of breeders and visited the exhibition "Besieged Leningrad". This section of the exhibition was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the complete lifting of the blockade: on a specially designated area of the field, farmers grew crops that were cultivated during the heavy days of the blockade in the squares and parks of the city, literally saving Leningrad residents. The total area of the exhibition this year was about 25 thousand square meters. Separately, more than 6 hectares, specialists of the branch of the Federal state budgetary institution "Gossortkommissiya" in the Leningrad region laid more than 500 varieties of almost 30 crops using various systems of mineral nutrition. More than 800 pieces of machinery and equipment were collected as part of the static exhibition "Russian field day", and 70 of them demonstrated their work in real mode at special displays. Among other things, the exhibition presented a new-generation tractor "Kirovets K-7", the production of which began at the St. Petersburg tractor plant in June this year. In total, more than 8 thousand farmers gathered at the event, and about 200 agricultural organizations from all over Russia showed their products and developments. As part of the Russian field day, a rich business program was also organized, which included various discussion formats and thematic areas. The Central event of this part of the exhibition was the plenary session "Results of sowing and harvesting in the Russian Federation in 2019". It was attended by members of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the leadership of the subjects and regional authorities of agriculture, representatives of agricultural science and education, industry unions and associations, as well as the business community. In his welcome speech, Dmitry Patrushev recalled that last year at the"Russian field day " the tasks were set to increase production, improve technologies, preserve and increase the acreage, increase the use of mineral fertilizers, and use the achievements of domestic breeding. "The preliminary results of not only the sowing campaign, but also the beginning of the harvesting campaign show that many subjects of the Russian Federation follow the recommendations of the Ministry of agriculture, show good dynamics of work," he said.
